During a trip to Mexico from May 23 through June 1, 2025, Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles met with government officials, addressed , trained local leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and uplifted missionaries. The Apostle’s visit emphasized collaboration with civic authorities and reinforced the Church’s commitment to service and spiritual growth throughout the country.

Meetings with Government Officials
Elder Christofferson met with Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío in Baja California Sur on May 29. They discussed Church-ed initiatives ing security, health and education for vulnerable groups. At the end of the visit, Elder Christofferson presented the governor with a Book of Mormon and four generations of his family history.
In a meeting with Secretary of the Interior Rosa Icela Rodríguez in Mexico City on May 30, Elder Christofferson discussed the Church’s 150-year history in Mexico.
“We ... acknowledge the valuable we have received from the Ministry of the Interior, especially in managing the registration of ministers of worship and other procedures, which has enabled the growth of the Church in Mexico,” he said.

In Guadalajara, Elder Christofferson and his wife, Kathy, spoke at the Bugambilias Guadalajara Stake conference on May 25. He encouraged Saints to trust in God’s promises, made through covenants.
“He knows each of us and gives the promise to each of us; He does take us into , He knows who we are, He loves each of us perfectly,” he said.
While in Guadalajara, Elder Christofferson also participated in a training for local Church leadership, met with missionaries serving in the area and held a devotional for prospective missionaries.
During the prospective missionary devotional, he emphasized the importance of missionary work today.
“These are beautiful times we live in; they are a unique moment. What a privilege we have to be part of this great advancement. The Lord knows how to accomplish His work and allows us to participate in it. It is a unique blessing to be at His side in His great work,” Elder Christofferson said.

In a nationwide devotional broadcast from Mexico City on May 25, 2025, the Apostle invited Mexican to love, share, and invite their neighbors and friends.
“Sharing our love for the Savior’s gospel can bring joy to us, to others, and to the Savior Himself,” he said. “[The gospel] protects us from temptation, brings healing, and forgiveness of sins.”
On June 1, 2025, Elder Christofferson participated in another leadership training for Church leaders in Mexico City, as well as a stake conference attended by more than 1,000 .
In his stake conference address, Elder Christofferson spoke about the importance of faith.
“Faith is a spiritual gift that is born when we read or hear the word, when we testify or hear a testimony,” he said. “Walking in His way, the way of the covenant, we will have greater faith in Him.”
